Gannett Moving Mansfield Production To Newark

Gannett is moving operations from it’s Mansfield plant to the Newark, Ohio plant, which is the site where the Newark Advocate is printed.

As newspaper production slows, Gannet is looking for ways to save money in it’s operations. Some would argue that their spun content and biased reporting has much to do with the problem, others site the Internet in general. Gannet has put a huge effort in it’s web efforts but the constant NetFlix pops and 90’s style flashing and rotating banners for advertising have turned away many visitors to their websites.

Gannett’s early reporting that the Internet would not impact their operations have proven to be false. Hopefully, this is a wakeup call to the company. Even with biased reporting, lacking blog efforts, and the crazy ad promotions, I still appreciate their local reporting.
